Welcome to my Blog!
You may have already figured out that my name is Travis Scheele. I’m a leadership consultant, but I’m also a dad, a brother, a husband, a father, a friend, a teacher, a student, a dog owner, and a bunch of other things.
I was born in Springfield, MO. I grew up and went to college there, and then left for a grand adventure as soon as I graduated. I lived in Utah (met my wife), Colorado (we started our family), and eventually Idaho (we had our second child) before deciding to move back to Springfield so that our children could grow up near family.
I’ve always had a wide and ranging array of hobbies and interests. I studied anthropology in college and educational leadership in graduate school. I’ve worked with at-risk youth in behavioral healthcare programs and schools, I’ve done some real estate investment, and I’ve been involved in executive leadership for about a decade. I also tried my hand at tree trimming, content creation, wood working, restaurant work, and some other odd jobs in between everything else (mostly when I was younger and had fewer responsibilities). I play the banjo, paint, read a lot, practice woodworking, spend time with my kids, and I love fountain pens. I’m the quintessential “jack-of-all-trades,” and some of those trades are odd. But I love them.
Until recently, I had exclusively worked for other people and organizations. I always saw myself as a company man. I never went out on my own for a number of reasons (not the least of which is that it’s scary and overwhelming out there). But eventually, I realized that I hadn’t really tried launching my own business. My brother had, my mentors had, my wife had, but I hadn’t, and I really wanted to. I believed that I could help more people, feel more fulfilled, and live life more on my terms. It turns out all of that was true.
Since launching my business, I’ve helped all kinds of people solve a wide variety of problems. I’ve helped team leaders improve and build training and staff development programs, managers improve their recruitment and retention initiatives, directors write effective policies, executives improve financial positions, and companies improve their overall organizational health and company culture.
As a leadership professional (and really, as a human being), these are the things I value most:
- Personal and professional growth
- Accountability
- Strength-based leadership
- Communication
- Drive
- Culture
